The state of the world today and the rising price of gold means that the entire planet is starting to wise up and realize that recycling precious metals is important. If they can make money from it, even better.

There has never been a better time to fish out those old earrings, broken necklaces and precious metals you have lying around and cash them in.

Last week Anne Zimmerman from the Wall Street Journal had this to say “So now seemed like a good time to join the gold rush and offload my unwanted pieces to someone who’d pay for the metal.” in her article Turning Old Bling Into Fresh Green.

How did she end up selling her gold?

Another recent piece about selling gold was written two days ago by Dave Carpenter of Associated Press who hits the nail on the head when he says “…everything is fair game when it brings this kind of profit”.

And this today from Wendy Bounds of Good Morning America

“Try to sell your gold to a wholesaler, not a jewelry store. The wholesaler deals directly with the gold refinery, so you’re bound to get a better deal. Many wholesalers allow you to mail your gold in, so check their Web sites. Also make sure they are registered with the better Business Bureau.”
